Welcome to the Professional Videographers of the North Bay

Who We Are:

The Professional Videographers of the North Bay is the only networking and mutual support organization exclusively serving the needs of video and film professionals in Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties in northern California. We come together once a month to network, share our work, improve our craft, and just generally to have a good time.

We meet once a month, at various locations (member studio, community rooms, local libraries, etc.) to share information, tools, and techniques. Open “show and tell” time makes it possible to show recent work, talk about the issues of the day, current business concerns, and the latest gear. Come join us! We have three categories of membership: members (those actively earning income from video production), members (those providing services and support to the video trade, but not actually doing production), and members (those actively enrolled in an accredited program or doing production work for Community Access.)

Benefits of Membership

Opportunities to network with a diverse group of other professional videographers (and related fields.) If you’re not sure about the advantages of this, just ask around and see how much business is being referred from one member to another!! It’s substantial.

Got a question or problem with some piece of equipment or software? Got something to sell? Need to borrow something you can’t justify owning for an afternoon? Need last minute assistance on a job because of illness, client spec change, etc? This group is capable of responding almost instantly to your message for whatever you need. That alone is worth the price of admission.

Ongoing education and presentations on such diverse topics as: “Curing Audio Headaches,” “Marketing Video Over the Web,” “Working With Voiceover Talent,” “How to Get Paid what You are Worth,” plus demos of new equipment.

Would you like to try out a piece of equipment before purchasing it? Members often bring in their latest purchases to share with the group during the “show and tell” portion of the meeting.

Honest critiquing of your work at our “Anonymous Critique” sessions, or at the very least a chance to show the fruits of your labor to people who can really appreciate it.

OK, so maybe cookies aren’t such a big deal, but you can be sure that the rest is worth the price of admission. PVNB is a dynamic, diverse group and the benefits of being a member are many.
